Santa Clarita wildlife control tip of the month: How To Get Wild Animals Out Of The Attic
Several different types of Santa Clarita pest control wildlife animals seek their way into homes and buildings to claim a home of their own in the attic. To be able to choose an efficient method to remove the animal once it has invaded your attic, you first will need to determine what type of wildlife animal is present. Some of the different types of animals that may be present include: squirrels, racoons, rats and mice. Once you have determined what you are dealing with, you can begin the removal process.
The most common Santa Clarita wildlife removal wild animal that will invade your attic, on a National scale, is squirrels. Once a squirrel has made its home in yours, it will continue to return yearly. They will make their entry point at Santa Clarita animal control roof level and typically stick near by it. Once the squirrel has found its point of entry, that will be their one and only in and out, the entry point is reused. Squirrels must be removed, or they will continue to come back. There is no scent that will drive a squirrel out of your attic. Ultrasonic sound emitters, and strobe lights do not work either. The method you will want to use is to trap them, and relocate them. So, once they leave, they cannot come back. This form of removal will require a chew proof home, as well as no access to other entry points. Once all squirrels are out of your attic, you will need to seal all entry points and inspect your attic for any damage, such as electrical wiring chewed. Be sure to clean your attic of all droppings and parasites to prevent possible spread of disease. Also, be sure to get rid of any animal scent that could attract others.
Raccoons are large Santa Clarita animal trapping animals, who are also common to enter your attic, and they create a lot of damage. They will live in your attic at any time of year, and they search for an easy entry point such as a poorly screwed vent. The removal process is very similar to that of squirrels, you will want to trap and relocate. Keep in mind, mothballs and ammonia do not work to rid these animals, but the scent of a male raccoon may cause a threat to a mother raising her liter. After the removal process, you will want to first seal the entry points, and then bolt them with steal. Next, search the attic to be sure there are no baby raccoons, they will stave and die without mother. Follow the same final three steps as you would if removing a squirrel.
Rats and Santa Clarita exterminator mice are also common to enter your attic, as well as buildings, and will sometimes live in the walls. Rats and mice get where they want by squeezing through small holes and gaps. Mothballs, ultrasonic sound emitters, and ammonia also will not work to get rid of these animals. And, poison is a bad idea that will create more problems. Like squirrels, and raccoons, you will want to trap and relocate. Snap traps work the best for mice and rats. Follow the final three steps as you would for a racoon or squirrel after the removal process.
